For anyone who feels that stress and anxiety are an unavoidable fact of modern life, meditation reminds us that within each one of us is an inner core of peace that we can learn to access at will.  This ancient practice is becoming part of our culture and is widely recommended by doctors, business managers, schools and hospitals.  This is because it offers positive and life-enhancing results on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Meditation leads us to the rediscovery of our innate nature of peace and equanimity.

 Regular practice benefits health and well-being.   Moreover, it is proven to reduce stress and anxiety and increase energy and concentration.

There are so many scientifically proven benefits for health and well-being.  Even as little as 10 minutes a day can be extremely beneficial.   Meditation also puts us directly in touch with the intuitive wisdom of our soul.  Everyone is searching for happiness – meditation gives us the doorway through which to find it.

Although it doesn’t remove difficult times, it does however,  provide a way to get through them with more calmness, insight and integrity.

Restorative Yoga & Deep Relaxation

1st Friday evening of every month – online Class 7pm

A sublimely relaxing session that brings balance and calm, and eases stress and anxiety.  You are encouraged to relax fully and breathe into the postures, while being supported by cushions and pillows (for online classes).  It not only feels heavenly, but gives permission for  muscles to soften and relax, increasing flexibility without strain.  Supports the healing of physical and emotional stress-related issues.  Takes us into the  heart space where we can touch our inner joy!

Based on Ananda Yoga, healing affirmations are used during the class to take our awareness more inwards.  

Affirmations can create an environment that encourages healing, insight and peace.

A really good choice too for fibromyalgia, CFS, sleep issues and many other health issues.  And for people who do too much! (pretty much all of us!).  Classes may include Yoga Nidra.

Yoga designed by women for women.  A practice that supports our natural rhythms.  Permission for rest included with yoga nidra.  Supports menstrual and menopause health, fertility, pre and post pregnancy…and all things woman.

If you have a coil, are trying to get pregnant, have your period, are postnatal, in menopause, have a prolapse…. these practices will support you and help you avoid some of the stronger postures that aren’t beneficial for you at this time. If you are tired, stressed, aching or in overwhelm – these practices are for you too.  Above all, women’s yoga understands women’s bodies.

These sessions are deliciously soft, healing and restorative, and are a wonderful way to connect more deeply with yourself, as well as to reduce stress and anxiety.

Yoga Nidra 

the art of relaxation and healing

Yoga Nidra is an invitation to stillness, a deeply restorative and meditative practice that calms the nervous system and eases us into pure being.  While it may look like you are just lying down and relaxing, it goes deeper than that.  This is the practice where we really learn how to welcome and greet ourselves exactly as we are . As a result, healing can take place.

Yoga Nidra is also an invitation to get to know yourself on an intimate level, and can be used as a tool to challenge beliefs, behaviours and habits, and bring about positive change in your life.

Yoga Nidra provides tools for navigating life with a sense of calmness and peace.  It leads us into the core of our being where we find the part of us that is always present and unchanging, and this gives us an anchor from which to respond to life.  In addition, we learn how to welcome and respond to whatever conditions arise, without the need to ‘fix’ anything.   A regular practice develops a sense of ease that infiltrates into all areas of our lives.

 Because a regular practice of Yoga Nidra works on restoring the health of the nervous system and calming down the anxiety response,  an increased sense of calmness and well-being takes place.  Yoga Nidra is also recognised as an  effective practice for pain management and sleep disturbance.
