Yoga and meditation can create healing for  health issues including stress, anxiety, joint pain, blood pressure, sleep issues and many of the symptoms of the menstrual cycle and menopause.

Yoga designed by women for women.  A practice that supports our natural rhythms.  Permission for rest included with yoga nidra.  Supports menstrual and menopause health, fertility, pre and post pregnancy…and all things woman.

If you have a coil, are trying to get pregnant, have your period, are postnatal, in menopause, have a prolapse…. these practices will support you and help you avoid some of the stronger postures that aren’t beneficial for you at this time. If you are tired, stressed, aching or in overwhelm – these practices are for you too.  Above all, women’s yoga understands womens’ bodies.

These classes are deliciously soft, healing and restorative – a sigh of relief can often be heard when women land on the mat!

Mindful Hatha Yoga

Influenced by both Sivananda and Ananda yoga, my hatha yoga classes focus on warm ups, breath (pranayama), sun salutes to get the energy moving, and settles into the ‘classic’ yoga postures.

Nourishes the body, increases flexibility and opens the heart and mind. The use of affirmations during postures brings our awareness out of the mind and into our centre, increasing our sense of well-being.

Concludes with relaxation.  A great class too, if you want a practice that you can gradually master for use at home.  Suitable for all.

Restorative Yoga

A sublime class that brings balance and calm into our lives.  We are encouraged to relax fully and breathe into the postures, while being supported by bolsters and blocks.  It not only feels heavenly, but gives permission for our muscles to soften and relax, increasing flexibility without strain.  Supports the healing of physical and emotional stress-related issues.

A really good class too for fibromyalgia, CFS, sleep issues and many other health issues.  And for people who do too much!

Yoga Nidra is an invitation to stillness,  a deeply restorative and meditative practice that calms the nervous system and eases us into pure being.  While it may look like you are just lying down and relaxing, it goes deeper than that.  This is the practice where we really learn how to welcome and greet ourselves exactly as we are . As a result, healing can take place.

Yoga Nidra provides tools for navigating life with a sense of calmness and peace.  In addition, we learn how to welcome and respond to whatever conditions arise, without the need to ‘fix’ anything.  A regular practice develops a sense of ease that infiltrates into all areas of our lives.

Shock, trauma, pain, stress and  anxiety impact the health of the nervous system and can lock us into a state of constant hyper-arousal that drains us of energy and enthusiasm.  Because a regular practice of Yoga Nidra works on restoring the health of the nervous system and calming down the anxiety response,  an increased sense of calmness and well-being takes place.  Yoga Nidra is also recognised for as effective for pain management and sleep disturbance.

One to One Sessions of Yoga Nidra Therapy

These seated sessions are an opportunity to work with yoga nidra as a therapeutic tool and they work differently from a class.  Gently taking awareness inwards, I work with you to encourage things that need addressing to rise to the surface, for acknowledgement or healing.  The technique is simple, yet profound and gets to the heart of what we need, or what is holding us back, very quickly.   Healing results from this gentle and meditative therapy.

In addition, we touch the base of inner peace and calmness that is our essential nature.  From here we become adept at responding to life, rather than reacting.  Sessions invoke clarity and encourage change.  A sense of deep peace is usually experienced at the end of a session..
